How Far Can MAGA Go?

MAGA Is All About Demolition. But Does It Have Staying Power?

With the Duplicitous Doofus Duo intent on destroying whatever they can of the US government, the questions abound: Where will this all lead us to? Will MAGA be stopped, and if so, how soon? Or will we end up in a completely totalitarian state while Trumpty Dumpty and the ketamine-addled Dr. Doom blissfully play golf and video games as the entire world around them crumbles due to their narcissism-fueled, evil toddler shenaningans?

I’m no pundit. I’m just a middle-aged family-centered writer who began obsessing on politics when Trump, pre-felon days, clomped into the 2016 political horse race with all the grace and style of an undrained Port-a-Potty being tossed directly into a presidential state dinner party. However, as an avid news consumer who loves analyzing almost anything, I have some thoughts about what MAGA’s limits are.

My general belief is that although MAGA will successfully continue doing enormous damage to what used to be a democratic government (and consequently to the rest of the world), it won’t be able to completely overtake the US. (Or, if they do manage to grab the reigns for a period of time, they won’t be able to hold onto them for very long.) In other words, I don’t know when and I don’t know how, but I do know that eventually, one way or another, MAGA as a political power is eventually GOING DOWN.

Lord, oh Lord, how I pray for that day to come as soon as possible!

The MAGA Machine is Missing a Lot of Working Pieces. And The Pieces They Do Have Are Assembled All Wrong.

Right now MAGA has tremendous amounts of money, power, and momentum. But as a whole, it’s sorely lacking in key elements necessary for lasting success. By lasting success I mean not only being able to complete a fascist takeover, but also being able to claim lasting ownership of the US government.

Like a cheaply made toy that begins to fall apart after repeated use, this is, imo, the fate of MAGA. Below are the many reasons I think MAGA will eventually self-combust.

MAGA is too:

impulsive
mercurial
myopic
idiotic
logic-free
short-sighted
ignorant about how our government is structured and operates
arrogant
binary in their thinking (making them limited in their thinking)
thoughtless
sloppy

MAGA lacks:

a connection to reality
an understanding of, and respect for, truth
a central ideology (that isn’t based on Trump’s self-serving impulses)
a realistic long term strategy
a realistic assessment of how others see them and will react to them
planning
organization
competency
discipline
patience

A Few More Things…

We are many, they are few.
MAGA is trying to overtake a larger and, until now, internationally powerful country. We are not Germany, Hungary, or Turkey in size or stature. There are hundreds of millions of us and only a handful of them. Even if MAGA succeeds in muting all corporate media, for instance, there are just too many outlets for the US to become a fully propagandized country quickly, if ever. Yes, they have all the governmental power now, but we overpower them in sheer numbers. And when you add in all those in other countries who oppose MAGA as well, we have tremendous power to fight back forcefully when more people wake up and join us.

MAGA doesn’t understand subtlety. Not even in the subtlest of ways.
The only tools MAGA knows how to fight with are conflict, intimidation, aggression, and escalation. This leaves resistors a lot of space to fight them in strategic in ways—ways they don’t have the intellectual and emotional capacity to predict.

They have no concept of boundaries.
They only discover boundaries by pushing through them until they are absolutely forced to stop. (Have you ever tried this with a crocodile?) Which means eventually they will push until they are trapped and/or self-combust. No one is omnipotent forever. And MAGA is a particularly idiotic ruse of (mostly) fools.

They suffer from extreme amounts of The Dunning-Kruger Effect.
The Dunning-Kruger Effect is a cognitive bias in which individuals with low ability in a specific area tend to overestimate their competence, while those with high ability tend to underestimate their skills.

Obviously, only the first part of the definition applies to MAGA. How does their Dunning-Kruger help us? This condition seriously impedes their overall judgement regarding, well…everything.
