Thank you so much. I needed this so much. We are twin spirits & you’re reminding me of how I need to take better care of myself. As a leader of an activist group, your guidelines are a necessity.
I feel this so strongly. Thank you for illuminating the difficulties of being a sensitive person. I cringe at chainsaws. I despair at neighbors cutting trees and cities allowing clearcuts for development. I feel strongly about respecting our place in the natural world. What's happening in our country now spills past so many boundaries it's overwhelming to cope with. I've retreated into reading books. Walks in nature. Focus on projects that bring me joy. But I wish I had the stamina that others do to DO Something. It stresses me that I all I can do is share my own moments of quiet beauty online and hope they are a pick-me-up to others.
I was hugging my super cuddly dog, Bob Marley, as I read this. Hands free now, I’ll write that my counselor agrees with you. These are my life strategies. I escalate into my during- trauma toolkit when feeling overwhelmed.
Describe my dog. His breathing, his fur color, his contentment.
